Elements of the Competition

  • Written Test
  • Wheelchair Securement Exercise
  • Obstacle Course

Roadeo Regulations

Organizations can:
1. Register up to 3 drivers per division.
2. Register a maximum of 6 drivers to compete.
3. Register an unlimited # of judges

The Roadeo Champs

First place winners in each division of the competition will have the opportunity to represent Virginia as the Community Transportation Association of Virginia Roadeo Champion at the 2011 CTAA National Roadeo in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Eligible expenses will be reimbursed up to $1,500 per winner.

Driver Eligibility Requirements

To compete in the Virginia State Paratransit Roadeo, you must meet the requirements listed below.

Since May 2010 the named contestant:

  • Has been employed as a paid or volunteer driver engaged in demand-response or regular route service.
  • Has not had more than 3 unauthorized absences.
  • Has not been suspended from duties and/or been subject to any disciplinary actions.
  • Has not had a chargeable or preventable accident.
  • If a Supervisor - Is spending at least 50% of his/her work time transporting passengers
